Next summer, high school students will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in rigorous academics and future career paths through TC Academy’s new pre-college programs across psychology, philosophy, sustainability and singing.
“Our pre-college programming naturally builds on TC’s commitment to improving education and success at all stages of life,” says Will Trevor, the College’s Vice Provost for Online Strategy and TC Academy. “In learning from our exceptional faculty at the number one graduate school of education, high school students can better prepare for their college experience and careers from a diverse network of professionals.”
Now enrolling, TC Academy’s pre-college programs will welcome rising high school juniors and seniors to campus next July.

Future Leaders in Sustainability
Gain the knowledge and skills to lead sustainability initiatives through real-time discussions, hands-on activities, and project-based learning. With TC’s Oren Pizmony-Levy, Associate Professor of International and Comparative Education, students will gain an introduction to real-world research, ideas and solutions.
Perfect for rising juniors and seniors interested in global affairs, environmental science, education, business, social science or social entrepreneurship.

Introduction to Psychology
Build expertise essential for succeeding in psychological study and practice through a deep exploration of the field’s concepts and schools of thought. With doctoral student Katrina Monton, develop a foundational understanding of psychological research methodology and independently conduct a supervised study.
Perfect for high school students interested in potentially studying psychology in college. Students will receive an evaluation letter to use for their college applications.

Philosophy for Students
Engage in the Socratic method — a rigorous approach of dialogue-based learning to help students develop essential critical thinking skills. In this course, led by TC lecturer Sara Hardman, students will investigate how philosophy intersects with contemporary issues such as justice, climate change, identity and more.
Perfect for high school students who enjoy inquiry, regardless of whether or not they have previous experience with the subject, as well as students interested in pursuing arts, humanities or pre-law in college.

Develop artistically as a vocalist and musician in a supportive community environment. With TC lecturer Jeanne Goffi-Fynn, embrace a wide selection of music beyond the western classical canon to expand one’s horizons and aptitude for artistic performance.
