John DeAngelis is leaving Teachers College. In his own words, John wrote, “I am writing to say that after 19 year of service in the Morningside Heights community (16 years at Teachers College preceded by three years at International House) I will be leaving NYC to take a position closer to home as Associate Vice President for Public Safety at Fairfield University in Connecticut.  My last day of employment at TC will be Wednesday, September 14, 2022.  I will be in and out of the office, on intermittent vacation through August and September, and remain available to the College and to our Morningside Crime Prevention Team during that time as well as any time in the future when I may be of assistance.

While TC is exploring next steps, I leave the Office of Public Safety in very capable hands. Yeremy Chavez, Director of Public Safety Administration will be leading the Public Safety Team.  He will be assisted by Rob Wilson, Director of Public Safety Operations, along with Associate Director David Gaynor, and Assistant Directors Matt Hohl and Austin Cannon.   Patrick Mathelier, Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) will lead the EHS Team, assisted by Assistant Director Ed Kurzum and FLS Manager Joe Fallon.

My sincere thanks to all of you for your friendship and assistance, and for all of the important work we have done together, and best wishes to you and your families for good health and continued success.

John”
