JTS Library Stories: Venetian Ketubbah

The JTS Library houses one of the largest collections of rare Judaica in the world. This series will highlight some of these beautiful and unique works. This session focuses on a Venetian Ketubbah, a beautifully decorated document dated from 1749. Curator Sharon Lieberman-Mintz introduces the concept of a Jewish marriage contract and highlights the decorative and textual details from this ketubbah.

This is in conjunction with the JTS Library Exhibit, “To Build a New Home: Celebrating the Jewish Wedding” (May 18 – August 14, 2022).
