We at JTS are heartbroken to learn of the death of Chancellor Emeritus of @hucjir David Ellenson. A true Ohev Yisrael – a lover of the people Israel in all its diversity, a marvelous human being, a profound scholar, an inspired institutional leader, a trusted friend, and an outstanding role model for so many. As we approach the beginning of the Festival of Lights, we ache knowing that the light of the Jewish people has been diminished by his death.
