Fr. Peter A. Heasley, a native of Detroit, Michigan, worked as an architect in New York City for several years after service with the U.S. Peace Corps in Mali, West Africa. While living and working in New York, he took part in Catholic young adult life which helped him discern a calling to the priesthood. In 2007, he entered the St. John Neumann Center to study philosophy, and in 2009 he traveled to Rome to study theology at the North American College. Ordained a priest in 2013, he finished a licentiate in Biblical Theology in 2014 and a doctorate in Biblical Theology in 2019, both at the Gregorian University in Rome. In between, he served as parochial vicar at St. Gregory Barbarigo in Garnerville (2013) and St. John the Evangelist in Goshen (2014-2016). Most recently, he served as pastor of St. Michael the Archangel at Co-op City, Bronx (2019-2022). During his years of priesthood, he has also served as adjunct professor of Scripture at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers (2014-Present). Fr. Peter is very happy and excited to serve as pastor of Corpus Christi and Notre Dame, and asks that we pray for each other as we work together in the Lord’s vineyard in Morningside Heights.”
