What is the Riverside Church confirmation program?
This year, the Riverside Church will have two confirmation programs: one for youth, and one for adults. The goal of this program is to help you understand your own faith and articulate what you believe. Together with a community of learners and seekers, you will have opportunities to deepen your spiritual life and faith, and explore the origins and history of the Christian tradition.
The Riverside Church confirmation program will run from Fall 2024 into the Spring 2025, gathering about twice a month. In the Spring, participants will decide whether they would like to be confirmed in the Confirmation ceremony during the Pentecost service.

What is Confirmation?
Confirmation is an ancient rite of the Christian church. It is the act of sealing, or confirming, the covenant of baptism, and is often celebrated with the laying on of hands and anointing with oil. Confirmation is also a way for an individual to commit publicly to the Christian faith and the path of Jesus. At the Riverside Church, we often have a confirmation ceremony as part of our celebration of Pentecost, recognizing the action of the Holy Spirit who supports our growth in faith.
