About Dr. Kotschy’s talk:
Analysis of population aging is typically framed in terms of chronological age. In this presentation, I highlight the limitations of chronological age with respect to the inferences it can support about physiological and economic functioning. I then demonstrate how the use of functional rather than chronological measures of aging can provide new insights into individual economic activity and economic growth.
