Democracy Here & There / Democracia Aqui y Alla

Join the Latinx Ministry for this important conversation, led by the renowned Dominican journalist, TV personality and author Mr. Marino Zapete. The Dominican Community in New York City prides itself on remaining connected with the social and political life of the island; however, this focus weakens their active participation and presence in USA/NYS public life. This event aims to engage the Latinx/Dominican community in discussing the importance of participation in the US political process without forgetting their homeland. Marino Zapete, a well-known Dominican journalist, and Arelis Figueroa from the NYS Poor People’s Campaign will engage the audience in this important discussion.
