Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the Ukrainian Film Club of Columbia University will screen the second installment of the new documentary series “Culture vs. War.” This series is a collection of six documentary shorts united by one theme: how Ukrainian culture was transformed into a weapon to repel the brutal Russian aggression. Three documentaries to be screened and discussed at this event: they will feature the celebrated cinematographer Serhii Mykhalchuk, serving on the front line and documenting the war; actor and director Akhtem Seitablaiev; and photographers Vlada and Kostiantyn Liberov. Yuri Shevchuk, Director of the Ukrainian Film Club, will introduce the documentaries and hold the post-screening Q-and-A.
