Artist-in-Residence Workshops: “See and Tell Story, Shape, and Style: How to Tell Your Story” with Roundabout Theatre Company
Join The New York Public Library and Roundabout Theatre Company’s Artist-in-Residence for eleven sessions of artistic workshops!
The workshops will be held in person at Harlem Library.
Program Description:
What is your story? How does it want to be told? The way we choose to tell a story can change or enhance its meaning. In this program, we will introduce you to various storytelling forms to best express whatever holds meaning for you. By the end of the workshop, you will have your own thoughts, ideas, or experience shaped into a monologue, scene, or poem. We will also invite you to physically and visually interpret your piece using basic performance tools like improvisation, voice, physical choices, simple set design, or art installation.
Ticket Giveaways: Free tickets to see a performance of Pirates! The Penzance Musical are available, please see Library staff for more information or email Community@roundabouttheatre.org. Supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
