Back-to-School Backpack Drive & Community Celebration
Union Settlement, a leading East Harlem social service organization, will host a lively Back-to-School Backpack Drive Community Celebration to excite and support local students for the coming year. Families can enjoy music from a La Mega Radio DJ, creative activities including stenciling and spray painting, plus games like Connect 4 and Jenga. Free snacks and refreshments will be provided, creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere for all.
The celebration boosts Union Settlement’s annual Backpack Drive to equip 2,000 East Harlem students with fully stocked backpacks. With 1,300 backpacks already funded, community support is crucial to reach every child. The event is generously sponsored by Amalgamated Bank.

Open to all East Harlem families and community members. Community partners include the 23rd Precinct, Sinergia, MASA, ABC, Public Health Solutions, and others. Union Settlement programs and resources will also be available at the event.
