
Chinese Pedagogical Grammar – Theory and Practical Application: A CIFLTE Public Talk By Professor Qi Huyang
Abstract:
This lecture focuses on the compilation of a groundbreaking multi-volume series titled “Chinese Pedagogical Grammar Series,” supported by the National Social Science Fund. Prof. Qi will discuss critical insights into grammar concepts from learners’ perspectives, illustrate goals for resolving practical challenges faced by frontline Chinese language teachers, and share innovative research methodologies. Concrete examples from the grammar book series will also be showcased, providing clarity on the structure, theoretical frameworks, and pedagogical strategies involved.
About the Speaker:
Professor Qi Huyang is a renowned linguist specializing in modern Chinese grammar, second-language acquisition, and Chinese language teaching. He has served as Dean of the School of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language at Shanghai Normal University and Dean of the International Education School at Hangzhou Normal University. Prof. Qi has published over 160 academic articles, authored more than 50 textbooks, and has rich teaching experiences at prestigious international universities.
