#FeelTheMusic concerts promote “Deaf Music” – the rich variety of ways that music can be experienced and created multimodally, multiculturally, and multilingually to be accessible to all audience members and artists and affirming of Deaf culture. Music is created and experienced with an auditory focus, visually – through music-to-ASL interpreting, tactilely through music technology, and kinesthetically through dance, rhythm and movement. Previous iterations of #FeeltheMusic have brought together Deaf and hearing panelists with diverse experiences in music, research, and education to explore music from the perspectives of language and literacy, access, multimodality, Deaf culture, ASL musical elements, and more.
