House of Time: An Evening in Versailles
The splendor of the French court was on full display in the lavish musical entertainments that graced the opera and ballet stage, but some of the most beautiful and affecting works of the time were reserved for the evening concerts in the king’s apartments. House of Time brings you a special selection of works by royal favorites Marin Marais, François Couperin, and Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre in a musical evening fit for a king.
ARTISTS
House of Time, known for their “fluency and command” (San Francisco Classical Voice) and “fine playing, cohesiveness and creativity” (Early Music America), is dedicated to both well-known and underperformed repertoire of the 17th through the 21st century played on period instruments. Members and guests include faculty and alumni of The Juilliard School, as well as prize-winners of major international competitions.
Going into their 11th season, House of Time is ensemble in residence at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New York City.
