Public Tea Offering by Members of Omotesenke Domonkai
A Public Tea Offering by Omotesenke Domonkai Members will be presented in St. James Chapel. The sweets and tea served at the Public Tea Offering will be the same as those that the Grand Master traditionally offers to God in prayer for peace.
Prior to the Public Tea Offering, The Omotesenke Domonkai Eastern Region USA will host the World Peace Prayer Tea Dedication Ceremony at 10am, featuring the participation of Yūyūsai Sōshō, the 15th Generation Grand Master of Omotesenke. It will follow the time-honored traditions of the Japanese tea ceremony, offering two bowls of tea in prayer for world peace. Those present in the Cathedral are welcome to observe the ceremony but tickets are not available to the general public.
