The Psychedelic Roots of Religion: Past and Future

How have psychedelics shaped religious and spiritual traditions? What role do they play in mystical experiences and personal transformation?

Join the Teachers College Interdisciplinary Psychedelic Society (TCIPS) at Teachers College, Columbia University or on Zoom for an engaging and thought-provoking event that brings together spiritual leaders, religious scholars, and psychedelic practitioners to explore the deep connections between psychedelics and faith traditions.

This event features voices from Christianity, Buddhism, the Church of Santo Daime, and contemporary spiritual movements, engaging in a dynamic discussion on psychedelics as tools for spiritual insight, healing, and connection.

What to Expect:

🔹 Panel Discussion – Spiritual leaders and practitioners share their insights on the intersection of psychedelics and religion.

🔹 Interactive Q&A – Engage directly with speakers and ask your questions about faith, mysticism, and psychedelic experiences.

🔹 Community Engagement – An open and inclusive space for dialogue, reflection, and connection.

This event is open to all—whether you’re deeply rooted in a faith tradition, exploring psychedelics as a spiritual tool, or simply curious about the conversation.

🎟️ Limited spots available! Reserve your ticket now. Non-TC attendees will need to register by March 28th at 12pm, for security purposes.
