Writing the Jewish Mediterranean

This event will celebrate the recent publication of two books on Jewish Mediterranean literature from the Medieval times to the twentieth century by putting their authors in conversation. Isabelle Levy, author of Jewish Literary Eros: Between Poetry and Prose in the Medieval Mediterranean, and Dario Miccoli, author of A Sephardi Sea: Jewish Memories Across the Modern Mediterranean, will interrogate each other and discuss questions of what it means to think and write the Jewish Mediterranean.

The event is moderated by Konstantina Zanou (Columbia University).

Isabelle Levy is Academic Program Director and Lecturer at the Institute for Israel and Jewish Studies, Columbia University.

Dario Miccoli is an Assistant Professor of Modern Hebrew and Jewish Studies at the Department of Asian and North African Studies of Ca’ Foscari University, Venice.
