2024 HPM Healthcare Conference

The 2024 HPM Healthcare Conference will explore strategies in communicating about public health, the intersection of politics and policies that impact prevention and health outcomes, and innovative approaches to including social determinants of health (SDOH) in addressing public health problems. The day will include a keynote address, morning panel and afternoon dialogues.

The day will kick off with a keynote address from Dr. Sherry Glied, who will discuss her role as Chair, and her vision for the newly established New York gubernatorial advisory body, the Commission on the Future of Healthcare. The morning panel will cover the importance of bridging the gap between scientific information and public understanding. In this session, we will delve into the nuances of public health communication, sharing expertise on conveying complex health topics to diverse audiences with clarity and impact, and providing valuable strategies for effective messaging in public health. The afternoon program will allow attendees to choose one of the following three sessions: (1) a fireside chat that will address emerging solutions to address food justice and nutrition insecurity, (2) a roundtable discussion that will examine PEPFAR’s reauthorization, and (3) a panel that will explore investments, innovation, and strategic partnerships in the rise of complementary medicine. Participants will come together for a closing panel that will discuss AI equity and how we can use technology as a tool to improve health disparities and healthcare delivery. The conference will conclude with a networking reception.
