Buddy Dzina ’14

Buddy Dzina ’14 spent this summer at West Point, enduring “Beast Barracks,” which constitutes his Cadet Basic Training prior to his first year there.

“Brutal would be an understatement,” shared his mother, Lucy Dzina, P ’12, ’14, ’17. But he survived, ‘slayed the Beast,’ and at times even called it fun.”

Rabeah Ghaffari '89

Rabeah Ghaffari will be releasing her new book, To Keep the Sun Alive, in January of 2019. The story takes place in the small Iranian city of Naishapur just before the 1979 revolution. A retired judge and his wife, Bibi, grow apples, plums, peaches, and sour cherries, as well as manage several generations of family members. To read more about Ghaffari’s book go to:

Jax Floyd '16

Jax Floyd was named a 2018 Lawrenceville Hutchins Scholar which recognizes and supports some of the school’s most outstanding science students. The Lawrenceville School describes the program as one that provides scholars with substantive research experiences, prepares them for leading university science programs, and ultimately inspires them to pursue science-related careers. Joan’s Closet

“Joan’s Closet” is a labor of love by MSM Board of Trustees member Joan Taub Ades, giving female students gently-used audition and recital gowns and outfits. More than 200 MSM students benefit each year from donated performance formal and semi-formal attire in this annual event, established by Joan Taub Ades.
